Member Updates: Afghan – China Air Corridor Inaugurated

The air corridor between Afghanistan and China inaugurated by his excellency Mr. Ghani, President of Islam republic of Afghanistan, in this gathering Mr. Ajmal Ahmady advisor to the president in finance and banking affairs, ministers of line ministries such as (Finance, Agriculture, industry and commerce and economy, Mr. Momand, deputy of commerce of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI),  and Mr. Hafizi head of international relation of ACCI, vice president of China embassy in Kabul, governors of south eastern and eastern part of AFGHANISTAN, traders and exporters of pine nuts attended in this inauguration ceremony.

 

Mr. President, addressed the importance of pine nuts, “It's an historical day, our hidden treasury, has changed to a national wealth, this day will be celebrated every year, as the name of (national pine nuts day).”

 

Mr. M, Yunas Momand, deputy of commerce of ACCI, thanked the president for taking this vital step and for the promises he made in order to encourage and strength the private sector as whole. Vice president of China embassy stated: "It's an honor to observe, today Afghan pine nuts are exporting to China, and Chinese consumers are satisfied from Afghan products and we are supporting to see further exports from Afghanistan to China."

 

It's mentioning, in the first flight by this air corridor around 20 ton of pine nuts exported to China and as well planned to export around 80 ton of pine nuts in the coming days and this process would be continued to further strength the relation between Afghanistan and China.

 

Afghan pine nuts annually produce 23 thousand metric tons, previously this product was re-exported by Pakistan to China, but nowadays by taking this opportunity, Afghan business and traders are enabled to export pine nuts directly from Afghanistan to China via air corridor.

Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) joined in the SRCIC since March 2016.

 

ACCI is headquartered in Kabul and operates 27 branch chambers in 25 provinces. Its current membership exceeds 65,000 companies and 255 business unions, association and cooperatives. ACCI aims to facilitate the interests of the Afghan private sector to a diverse audience.
