Azerbaijan Delegation Explores the “Belt and Road” Economic Opportunities in China

The Azerbaijani delegation led by Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev is to pay a visit to China on 5-7 February 2018 for the planned International Conference on “The Role of the Trans-Caspian East-West Trade and Transit Corridor in the Realization of the ‘Belt & Road’ Initiative” in Beijing, and the presentation of the Trans-Caspian East-West Trade and Transit Corridor in Xi’an.

 

The presentation meeting will be held by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China and co-organized by the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce on 7 February in Tang West Market, Xi’an. SRCIC Secretary General Li Zhonghang will meet the delegation and attend the meeting.

 

The presentation is to introduce the Trans-Caspian East-West Trade and Transit Corridor to the Chinese government, organizations and entrepreneurs, and to discover new opportunities for international trade, logistics and supply chain. The meeting will allow international business to explore the vast potential in the region while serving as an effective platform for the regional countries to present their capacities as a single or an integrated market.

 

Azerbaijani Ambassador to China Akram Zeynalli and more than 20 experts from international transportation and logistics will also attend the meeting.

The Trans-Caspian East-West Trade and Transit Corridor brings together the Central Asia, Caspian and Black Sea strategic regions to form a viable trade and transit corridor between Europe and East & South-East Asia. Connecting trade, people and economies, the modern trans-Caspian corridor has extensive and integrated network of infrastructure, special economic zones, customs clearance, cross-border procedures and more. The Coordination Committee of Trans-Caspian international transport route was established in October 2013.
