"Welcome to the Philippine Business Forum 2021 jointly organized by the Department of Commerce and Industry, the Investment Agency, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Philippine Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce and the China-asean Business Council," said Chairman Francis Chua in his welcoming remarks. It is a great pleasure to meet with good friends again at this challenging time.

In 2019, the Philippines was one of the fastest growing economies. Even in the face of COVID-19, our growth is still substantial compared to other economies.

I want to thank the Chinese government and Ambassador Huang Xilian. They are providing selfless assistance to help us withstand the impact of the pandemic.

China has donated 2 million doses of vaccines to the Philippines and shipped over 10 million doses to the country, and promised to provide more than 26 million doses this year. This is unprecedented. No other country has offered this level of support.

Our national vaccination program will enable Filipinos to achieve herd immunity and businesses to return to their pre-pandemic status and, ultimately, economic recovery.

Meanwhile, the Philippine economy maintained one of the fastest growth rates in Asia at 6.4 percent in the first quarter of 2021, second only to China.

On June 7, 2021, during the Special China-asean Foreign Ministers' Meeting,Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister, said that strong and pragmatic cooperation between China and the Philippines is helping the Philippines fight the epidemic, and the two sides have agreed and are carrying out a number of projects to support the doubling of Chinese investment in the Philippines. China is ready to further synergize the Belt and Road Initiative with the Philippines' "Build,Build,Build" plan, speed up trade liberalization and facilitation, strengthen cross-border e-commerce and financial cooperation, and share development opportunities and benefits.

President Duterte vowed to continue his firm support for China at the United Nations and in Geneva as it faces false accusations of human rights abuses. He called on ASEAN to unite in the fight against novel Coronavirus.

China and ASEAN have long advocated multilateral trade, opposed protectionism and unilateral actions, and worked hard to promote connectivity and establish the RCEP to inject positive energy into regional development.

Today, we will brief Chinese investors on investment opportunities in the Philippines and the establishment of a china-Philippines investment cooperation industry expert team. This will be the best time for us to introduce our agriculture, energy, infrastructure, logistics, real estate and tourism projects to Chinese investors. Let us ensure harmonious cooperation among our countries under the blueprint of our vision for china-asean strategic partnership in 2030 to achieve the goals of RCEP.

The PCCI and the PSRICC Will continue to work closely with the DTI, the Investment Agency, the Chinese Embassy, the China-Asean Business Council, and the private sectors to meet the challenges of economic recovery. This will unlock huge economic potential."

The forum also has Wuhan Fiberhome International Technology Co., LTD., Guangzhou Feiken Motorcycle Co., Ltd. and other representatives to share enterprises.

In order to promote china-Philippines cooperation in related industries and precisely connect business opportunities, the Philippine DTI and the China-Asean Business Council jointly promoted the establishment of the "China-Philippines Investment Cooperation Industry Expert Group". Several leaders of The Chinese business associations were awarded appointment letters at the forum.
