The 44TH Philippines Business Conference inaugurated on October 18 at the Manila hotel. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte made personal appearance for the speaker, President and CEO of San Miguel Group Ramon S. Ang became Chairman of the PBC. PSRICC as the conference sponsor, led by the Founding Chairman and also SRCIC Vice Chairman Francis Chua, attended the PBC.

The conference will also host the ICC Global Excellent Award ceremony, which will be presented by President Duterte. The honorary President of the association, Mr. William Cheng Lay Jr. and Mr. Michael Chen, both won the honor, and witnessed by the former presidents, H.E. Fidel V. Ramos and H.E. Joseph Ejercito Estrada. The ICC's Global Excellence Award is a list of industry elites who have made outstanding contributions to promoting the business and economic sectors in the Philippines as well as to promoting social development.

A number of government leaders were also invited to attend the conference, including speaker of the Senate John Sudow, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, Director of the National Economic Development Authority, Mr. Ernesto M. Pernia, and Secretary of Department of Transportation and Communication, Mr. Arthur P. Tugade, to deliver speeches and discussions on infrastructure and energy.

Mr. Francis Chua at the conference presided a special session, entitled: " Understanding the Risks and Effects of the Trade War ", invited Mr.Jin Yuan, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Philippines, Mr. Philip Kucharski, Chief Operating Officer, International Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Chen Xiang, Managing Director, Bank of China, made speeches and discussed the problems caused by tariffs imposed by the United States to China, Canada, Mexico and the European Union goods.
