SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong meets with ICC International Court of Arbitration President Alexis Mourre

On May 31, 2018, SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong met in Beijing with Mr. Alexis Mourre, President of ICC International Court of Arbitration and Mr. Fan Mingchao, Director of ICC Arbitration and ADR for North Asia.

The two sides exchanged views on future strategic cooperation and intended to sign a cooperation agreement at 2018 Silk Road Business Summit to be held in Zhangjiajie in October. The two sides also agreed to expedite interaction between their members and to share information in this regard.

 

Before the meeting, Chairman Lu and SRCIC Deputy Secretary General Wang Yan accompanied the guests visiting the SRCIC Beijing Office.

 

ICC International Court of Arbitration

 

The ICC International Court of Arbitration is the world's leading arbitral institution established in 1923. In Fall 2017, Alexis Mourre, President of ICC International Court of Arbitration, announced to establish a commission for driving the development of ICC's existing dispute resolution procedures and infrastructure to support the Belt and Road disputes.

 

In March 2018, the ICC International Court of Arbitration officially announced the establishment of the Belt and Road Committee. Justin D'Agostino, Global Head of Disputes at Herbert Smith Freehills was appointed as Chair of the Committee. Fan Mingchao, Director of ICC Arbitration and ADR for North Asia, was appointed as Secretary General.
