On 12 April 2018, an agreement signing ceremony was held in SRCIC Beijing Office between Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce(SRCIC) and International Chamber of Commerce and World Chambers Federation(ICC-WCF). The signed agreement confirms the coordinated efforts for both parties in resource integration, advantage complementation, and the pragmatic collaboration with world business associations under the Belt and Road initiative.

The signing ceremony was chaired by Jemal Inaishvili, Honorary Chairman of SRCIC and President of Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry. After signing, SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong and WCF Chairman Peter Mihok emphasized the importance of the relation between the two parties.

Mr. Lu said, “SRCIC and WCF should join hands with each other to promote the commercial prosperity, cultural exchanges, and the Belt and Road projects.”  In addition, he stressed three key points for both sides to push forward free trade and investment facilitation for an open world economy, to co-build international economic and commercial standards for an active participation in improving global governance system, and to expand pragmatic cooperation among business associations for building a community of shared future for mankind.

Mr. Lu also sent a sincere invitation to all the participants for 2018 Silk Road Business Summit to be held by People's Government of Hunan Province, China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), and SRCIC in Zhangjiajie city in October this year.

Mr. Peter Mihok quoted President Xi Jinping's speech at Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018 by saying that China will take the initiative to expand imports and will work hard to import more products. International commercial organizations will also benefit from this process of globalization. The Belt and Road Initiative not only offers opportunities for Chinese enterprises and its people, but also benefits the whole world. He also said that SRCIC founded by Chairman Lu is a NGO force in pushing forward the Belt and Road Initiative. SRCIC to a certain extend represents the private sectors. ICC-WCF should not only strengthen the collaboration with government but also NGOs. ICC-WCF will bring SRCIC to the global collaboration system.
