Business chambers of B&R countries reach economic development consensus

Eighty-one commerce chambers and organizations from Belt and Road countries have launched a development agreement aimed at building an efficient business cooperative framework at the Silk Road Business Summit in Xi'an of Shaanxi Province.

 

In a consensus released by the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce at the summit, it is agreed that the China-proposed "Belt and Road" initiative carries a grand vision on building a community of common destiny and the chamber should work along with it.

It is also agreed that a stable and harmonious economic, political, social environment should be built and maintained to support the mutual business and cultural exchanges for commerce chambers of these different countries.

 

Lu Jianzhong, President of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, said the consensus made this year means the undertaking of the group has reached a higher level.

He promised that the chamber will collaborate with different countries to grasp the opportunity of the "Belt and Road" initiative and be part of the international force to boost global economic recovery and blueprint the global economic governance system.

 

The Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, initialized in 2015 with the support of World Chambers Federation and China Chamber of International Commerce, is the first international business organization named after the ancient Silk Road and has seen increasing influence on world trade and investment.

Li Zhonghang, Secretary-General of the chamber, said the members of the institute has grown from 36 to 81 in the past two years since its establishment and the chamber has also organized several events to create cooperation opportunities for different countries.

 

This year's business summit attracted over 600 guests from 70 countries along the ancient Silk Road to join the business dialogue.
